Fury has challenged a man to a fight who has lost 12 times. Surely this is the best fighter of the era?
Tyson Fury has clearly not appreciated such high anticipation for a rematch between Alexander Usik and Anthony Joshua from the public. Fighter stalking, training videos, interviews and other activities of the fighters seem to have significantly dampened the mood of the Gipsy King, from which he has decided to remind himself.
Fury’s behaviour is more of a misunderstanding of his motives. At first he announced that he was retiring. But in retirement, the long-serving athlete couldn’t take it easy for long. He turned on Joe Joyce on social media. The courage did not end there. Now, Tyson is swarming between contenders for the title of his next opponent.
Fury’s bizarre antics towards his two potential opponents
The gypsy king is nonetheless determined to get back in the ring. Although many believe that his recent statements are nothing more than routine PR. The boxer wanted to remind the world of himself, but the public relations work is not going well. First, he announced that his return to the ring could only secure $500 million.
When the required fee didn’t pan out, the following statement followed. He decided to challenge Anthony Joshua for the fight. That would be all right, but here are the terms as amusing as possible. Fury demanded free entrance to Wembley Stadium, as well as free broadcasting of the event. Such a thing is now impossible to realise.
The absurdity of recent weeks has culminated in a challenge to Derek Chisora. The funny thing is that the latter has long since passed his best period, and is unlikely to be able to perform decently in the ring today. Given Fury’s skills, the choice of opponent is strange indeed and few would have expected such a thing at all.
Tyson’s challenge to Derek and the chances of a fight
Fury’s challenge was presented by a video appeal to Chisora. He decided to hit him hard and thereby get him to take part in the trilogy. In addition, it was also about the biggest fee of the boxer’s career. No response from Derek had yet been received, although it was unlikely he would go for such a provocation.
Such a move from Tyson has provoked the birth of various opinions. But what everyone has in common is that it’s a non-competitive bout. Some call it a fatal mistake altogether, while for some, such a stunt is more likely just a big misunderstanding. Nevertheless, the job is done, and therefore it is impossible to ignore it.
To be objective, Chisora has no chance against Fury at all. 25% of his last fights ended in defeat. As for the fight against Fury, Chisora lost 21 out of 22 rounds (if you count in terms of punches). In fact, Tyson literally crushed Derek, leaving him no chance to win.
Chisora’s current form leaves a lot to be desired. He’ll be 39 by the end of the year, and Fury is 5 years younger than him. It’s clear that Tyson is in much better shape. There’s also a significant height difference of 19cm, which also does not play into Derek’s hands. By the way, 28cm arm span is in favour of Fury and it’s a problem for Chisora too.
The reason for Derek’s participation in such a venture is completely absent. For show and money, yes. For the dignified end of his career and resuscitation in the eyes of his fans – no. For Fury, it is a continuation of his holiday spree.
