Football betting strategies
There is probably not a single bookmaker’s office that does not have a football betting strategy. The most popular sport is a source of good income for both bookmakers and bettors.
Strategy in football betting
Football is a sport with great predictability. However, strategies are very important when betting on the outcome of matches and other bets. By using strategies, you can effectively manage your gambling budget and protect yourself from very unpleasant moments, like unexpectedly losing all your money.
Beginners are strongly advised to try out simulator betting before you start playing for real money, so that no amount of nuances in the process can cause unfortunate surprises in the future.
The most popular strategy in football betting
Double odds betting. This betting strategy is likely to produce a small winnings, but it is highly probable, as two out of three odds can be played: a draw or a win for one of the teams chosen by the bettor. This strategy can be applied if the favourite has certain problems before the game, and the probability of its victory is low. It is also possible to bet against a draw, if the situation in the standings is such that each of the teams needs only a win.
Total goals in the first half. This strategy is only good for matches between teams with an attacking style of play. Before applying this strategy it is important to study the previous matches of the teams and, in particular, the frequency of their goals scored in the first half.
Bets on overtaking. Bets are placed on different types of wagers in the course of the game. The strategy resembles the “Martingale” strategy used in casinos. The essence of the strategy is to double each subsequent bet after losing the previous one, counting on the increased probability of winning.
Bets on late goals. This strategy is applicable, if: the teams play attacking football and each team is trying to win; an effective player, who has a good “scoring” asset at this stage of the tournament, has taken over.
Betting on a draw. This betting strategy gives you a good chance of winning, as the odds are rarely less than 3.5. It is possible to bet on a draw if: such an outcome of the match is suitable for both teams; the opponents are approximately equal; the teams previously often played with each other in a draw.
The Oscar Grinde strategy. The essence of this strategy is that if the bet is unsuccessful, the sum is put on the next bet without increasing, and if the bet passes, the doubled sum is put on the next bet. With enough luck, this strategy allows you to get a net profit of about 10% of the total amount of money bet.
Flat. A very simple strategy, the essence of which is making bets on all bets, but for each bet the minimum allowed amount is allocated. The strategy will not provide big winnings, but even if most of the bets made fail, the loss will not be catastrophic.
Betting on total goals. This is a very good strategy if: the leading scorers of the tournament; at least one of the teams plays with an attacking style of play; at least one of the teams is currently performing well; the field conditions and weather conditions allow the teams to play at their best.
Corner Kick Betting. This strategy of betting on a corner kick victory can be effective when the favourite team is the home team and the forwards of the favourite team are tall and well rounded.
The forking strategy. This strategy is considered a no-win situation, but it is risky. The essence of the strategy is very simple: a bettor in one bookmaker’s office makes a bet on one outcome of the match, and in another office – on the other outcome. The player wins due to the difference in odds. This strategy has a very serious disadvantage. It is a win-win for the players, but very unprofitable for the bookmakers. Therefore, bettors who use this strategy are monitored and can be blocked.
